I am sure that most of you who own blogs must have gone through the hassle of deciding on a topic for the blog. Well, I've been through it too; twice actually!! But once the initial jitters settle down, it is all smooth (neglecting the laziness of course!!)
It all starts with a buzzword. People all around you are talking about the blogs they own; about the thoughts they fill the blogs with; about how a blog helps them "open out"; and about how a blog helps them overcome their shyness!! This flurry of excitement prompts you to start worrying if not owning a blog might make you an outcast. Hence, to get into the line, and to follow the trend, you start a blog too. So, there you are, with a brand new blog at hand; you are feeling so proud of yourself, because, now, you are 'in' too!!
It is at this point, an epiphany strikes you-"What should I blog about?" And then, you are baffled, confused and....blank!! Those who are brimming with ideas and thoughts, well, they are in a quandary too - they don't know where to start. Here are two categories of new-blog owners (i)have no idea what to write about and (ii) have too many ideas and don't know where to start!! The latter types recover quickly though; they finally zero in on what they can possibly start with. So, while the blank types are still laboriously trying to figure out a solution, the others are ardously reading, re-reading and re-re-reading before they can contentedly click on the "publish post" option.
After eons of thinking and hopefully trying to stimulate their neurons, the former types eventually strike on a good enough topic. And there, in hardly a millionth fraction of the time taken 2 think of a topic, they have its contents ready!! They have a post; the very first one!! They ecstatically show it to anyone who knows all the 26 alphabets.
After a few posts, all spread out across a couple of months, the initial verve dies down. You comfortably forget that you own a blog, until you overhear some person who is enthusiastically talking about his/her's, an initial-stage person!! You smile sheepishly at yourself. Again there are two categories of people who have realised that the blogging fad has become ephemeral (i) try to get into the 'active' status again and (ii) don't give a damn; it is not 'in' anymore!! So when someone asks the latter types here, "Hey what did you blog about recently?", they just shrug, put up a yea-like-this-is-what-you-should-be-most-bothered-about-now kind of look, and say "Too much work, haven't been able to find time to blog!"
And there is the final stage of blogging; with yet another two categories of people (i) those who let their blogs die for reasons you can possibly presume as the 'lazy syndrome' or no time and (ii) those bloggers who may be active or passive, propbably letting their blogs sleep, but nonetheless not letting their blogs die!!
For those who might read this blog and post the following words in the 'comments' column, "so, which type are you?" Here is the answer "I really don't kno, lets wait and see..." lol!! ;)
