Even a loner cramped up in a room mentally in his own world is surrounded by the omnipresent air; which in turn forms his immediate environment. I can justify my comment herewith- Omnipresent because air is a basic human need and the surrounding is a very powerful influence on every life. Similarly, omnipotent because, the way we all treat our surroundings manifests itself in the way we all are affected by it.
As the world is rushing at a fast pace, along with the undeniably magnificent advancements in technology and science, we humans look for a life that is accentuated by the highest possibility of comfort. Eventually, caring for the environment seemed to be uppermost worry in the minds of very few generalists though it is obviously the matter of utmost concern for specialized environmentalists. This though, is slowly changing and a whiff or awareness seems to be flitting through all the countries in the world, thanks to the media. The teachings of Buddha may have spread its branches across most parts of the world, but global warming is not restricted to “most”, rather it would affect the entire world.
The people of the world have realized that it takes contribution from all of them rather than just some of them to help make a better environment. For, unity and cooperation can lead to betterment; while negligence and disunity can lead to a common tragedy and suffering. Everyone is special

Here is a heart warming allegory-
Years ago in Boston, there was a mental institution. It was one of the more enlightened ones for treating the mentally disturbed. However, the doctors felt that a dungeon was the only place for those who were hopelessly insane. A young girl called "little Annie" was consigned to a living death inside that small cage which received less light and even less hope.
About that time, an elderly nurse in the institution was nearing retirement. She believed that there was hope for all of God's creatures. So, with the thought that she could communicate some love and hope to Little Annie, she started taking her lunch and eating it outside the dungeon.
In many ways, Little Annie was like an animal. On some occasions, she would violently attack the person who came to her cage; at other times, she would ignore them completely. When the elderly nurse started visiting her, she gave no indication of even being aware of her presence. Once, the nurse brought some brownies and left them near the cage. Little Annie gave no hint that she knew they were there but the next day the brownies were gone! From that time on, the nurse started bringing brownies everytime she visited. Soon the doctors started noticing some change and after a period of time they moved her upstairs. Finally the day came when this "hopeless case" was allowed to go home. But Little Annie didn't want to leave. She felt that she could make a contribution if she stayed and worked with the patients. The elderly nurse had taught her to see and bring out something in her.
Years later, when Helen Keller was asked "how do you account for your remarkable accomplishments in life? How do you explain the fact that even though you were both blind and deaf you were able to accomplish so much?" Two young boys decided to test his wisdom. They walked up to his house. On the way, one of the boys caught a tiny bird in a bush and held it in his palm. The boys went near the old man. The old man smiled at the two boys, and without hesitation said "So, If i tell you that the bird is alive, you will crush it to death with your fingers; but if i tell you that the bird is dead, you will open your palm and let it fly away. I learned from this, that in my hands I hold the seeds of failure or the potential for greatness.

I went to a fair once. Everything around me looked so colourful and festive. There were hoopla stalls, an assortment of candy shops, stuffed toys, and exciting rides.
